We provide a "license" (agreement) for the reproduction rights to an image for a price and terms that are negotiated based on the specific use. Upon agreement, we provide a high quality and high resolution digital file based on a scan of at least 3,000 x 5,000 pixels. We make this file easily available on our FTP site or through the mail on disk. Every usage agreement is different; factors include the reproduction size, whether it is an exhibit or publication, length of the exhibit, circulation of the publication or for film or broadcast etc. Our images are not available anywhere else and are not available nor have ever been available as "royalty free". What this means is that we have always controled their usage and have a record of it; thus, in many cases we can guarantee exclusivity of your specific usage. Pricing for the use of our royalty managed images can vary quite widely but we do have a MINIMUM licensing fee of U. S. $150.00 for one time use.

Personal Use

We will also entertain special requests for photographs containing images of family members & relatives, i.e., "That's my Grandmother marching in Selma in 1965..." This type of pricing varies according to individual situations and includes no reproduction rights. We make this special offer available at our discretion out of respect for the important contribution to a photograph of its subject.
